OK, you’re probably not going to believe me, but I’ll tell you anyway: we actually had a positive experience at the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Mostly Dug Out
An unexpected three day weekend ended today as we (a collective, central New Jersey, we) pushed aside enough of the two feet of snow to actually go to work. Being reported as the worst snow storm in this area since 1996, it still amazes me how little it takes to paralyze things here. I’m not sure if that’s because they don’t have the equiment to deal with this much snow, or because there’s that many more people here. Maybe a bit of both.
Oh, well, in any case, the weather was bad enough to cancel racing at the track, so Michelle and I spent a wonderful day together. There’s something that doesn’t happen every day! Yeah, OK, that might be viewed as a little sad, but it definitely makes you appreciate it more.
Of course, a good chunk of that day was spend shoveling snow, trying to dig our cars out from under the plowed snow – talk about memories of Markdale! – but we survived it. Actually, Michelle did most of the work. All that energy must come from throwing horses around all day.
Fortunately, the roads were fairly good this morning, so I had no problems getting to work (not that I would have too much trouble; it’s a lot of the other people on the road who don’t know how to drive in this stuff!).
I could/should probably write more here, but I don’t have time right now…maybe later.
Good Karma, Bad Steve
Hmmm…well, turns out the Karma wasn’t the problem…it was the cable. Ooops. I’ve never had one go bad like that before. Glad I figured it out before I had to drive all over the place to find a repair shop (oh, yeah, that one I said was close to me? Haven’t been certified with Korg for 3 years, but Korg hasn’t taken them off the printed repair list.) Anyway, glad to see Korg QA still in my good books. 🙂
Bad Karma
Well, having owned my Karma for almost a year, I’ve got my first problem with it.
Alphaville: Waxing Lyrical
Having recently made the very cool discovery that one of my favorite 80s bands was still going strong, I picked up two Alphaville albums in fairly short order. (And they’re both amazing!) It’s always interesting when a band challenges you a little, especially from a literary perspective.
